What made us successful in Atlanta was the partnerships we formed with the community and corporate community. Since our operating budget will be low, key relationships will help us meet our fiscal demands for the 2009-2010 year.

Since August is vast approaching, I see that I still have much to do. The school that we will be working with has about 300 students with about 71% African American and 15% Hispanic. Currently, I am working on a needs assessment to determine what programs and iniatiaitives would be great fit for the school.

Just received word that our new logo will be created by a well known artist in Atlanta. The 2009-2010 tentative calendar has been created so it looks like a very busy year come August 2009. I am still trying to determine how many board members are needed to make this transition to Huntsville successful. The new web address is www.chryfoundation.org. I might put out a RFP for web designers for the website…don’t know yet.

So after several months of studying, reviewing, and analyzing the past issues of CHRYF, I am now moving it to Huntsville, Alabama. I am looking for August 2009 as the official operational move.
I am a bit excited about moving it there. Right now there is a need for service organizations to assist the youth in the area. I have drafted a tentative list of events and a schedule for the 2009-2010 year. I have also reached out to a great elementary school to adopt.
More to come.
